ASA Nationals Travelers Cup 2010

The festivities start the night before the Nationals...generally with some adult beverages and food of some sort. There are laughs and stories as friends become reacquainted.

During the evening there is usually some flicking...but that night is played the traditional Traveler's Cup. This is a tournament for all the players that are in town the night before from places far and near. Will be interesting to hear about these games this year...

Traveler's Cup Participants

Round 1
Paul Eyes (Bye)
Matt Giffen (bye)

Mike Tillman vs. Alex Batacchi (furthest traveler)
Nick Giffen vs. Richard Mellott (furthest driver)

Winner of the 2010 Traveler's Cup is Mike Tillman.

Mike beat Paul Eyes in the final.

Congrats to Mike Tillman of the MSC! Great job and way to start the tournament.

Subbuteo Across America

Simon Hutchinson of the So Cal club has set up a web site dedicated to this event : http://socalsubbuteo.com/competitions/subbuteoacrossamerica2010/

This a great idea. Since it is going to happen in May an event of our own needs to be planned.

More information to follow....

Subbuteo Accross America

Simon Hutchinson of the Southern California Subbuteo Club has thrown an idea out there. How about we get as many clubs, to play subbuteo at the same time from the east coast to the west coast....

....sounds like a cook idea...

More information will be posted when it is available, but it seems like there is some interest.

Harchester United

Wow..there was a tournament yesterday, the 2009 ASA MLS Cup. We ran across these photos.

Yes, we were quite impressed. Dewey of the WTSL has himself a Harchester United pitch. A couple of us here at the STSL are rabid fans of the famed Dragons of Harchester.

We have the urge to go and play at the Fabled Dragons Lair.

So look out Dewey....

Great job on the tournament also. And congrats to Mr. (have to call him that after Nationals) Cranston on the victory. And to all of the participants.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us to all of you!!!!!!!!

If you are traveling...please be safe. If you are cooking....please don't poison anyone.

World Table Soccer Added to Supplier List

Nothing but good things have been heard about this supplier and the Super Footy product. The Super Footy Classic Edition looks like the perfect set to start with. Personally I wish I would have found this set to start with several years ago.I completely grabbed this information off of their web site:

SuperFooty is a quality version of the traditional type of table soccer that we all know and love. Our mix of traditional and modern style can be seen not only in the product itself but also in the outstanding packaging and branding. SuperFooty Table Soccer is the UK's largest manufacturer of the "Subbuteo" variety of Table Soccer

For North American customers, you can purchase SuperFooty from Mission Fun and Games, St Albert, Edmonton, Alberta or visit the online store at http://www.boardgames.ca/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=25740
